WisdomCast: Full Moon in Pisces: 17 March 2026
Hi there,
Has communication been a bit weird, is your abundance and flow giving you grief at the moment? Are you questioning your beliefs and thought processes?
That is not surprising; we have two retrogrades happening now (Mercury (communication) & Jupiter (abundance, flow and beliefs). More about that in my newsletter – let me know if you want me to send it to you – or click this link to see the online version: *** or register here: https://control.mailblaze.com/index.php/lists/sm993xj2jx997/brand/C6vODw5XSnacN/subscribe
Our card from the Aspects of Self deck by Susan Emily Pitt is The Sage: The Power of Wisdom. I am writing a WisdomCast and we are talking about wisdom – how cool is that!!
The Sage is traditionally the third part of the masculine trilogy of Youth-Father-Sage, the feminine trilogy being Maiden-Mother-Crone. Some women are offended being called a crone even though it’s a highly respected honorific in the pagan belief system, so, in pandering to modern sensibilities, a sage could refer to a male or a female.
So, what is a Sage. A Sage is a person that has accumulated knowledge through time and learnt to apply it in practical form to their physical world.
In traditional cultures, after the person had past their productive/active phase, they became the “Wise Ones (Sage or Crone)” and spent their time teaching and guiding the younger members of the tribe. Their “tool-of-the-trade” was wisdom.
Knowledge is all well and good, but unless you can apply that knowledge in practical life, it is just a lot of words really.
If you look at how the human being grows and develops, you will notice that physical maturity is automatic, another year around the sun = another year older – done!
Our modern society has, unfortunately, taken the view that spiritual and emotional maturity follow the same path. This is not true. You can have a 50-year-old person displaying the emotional maturity and spiritual awareness of a two-year old. Just look around you and you will see this clearly, and good heavens we saw this a few years ago.
We also place a huge value on pieces of paper from schools, universities and the like. They may have had value in the past, but currently all they prove is that the person can regurgitate “facts” they have been indoctrinated into. Our education system is no longer focussed on teaching people how to think for themselves, make informed choices and decisions themselves.
We rely on so called “experts” to tell us what is “right”, even if our hearts and souls are screaming in protest! Obviously, I am generalising here, but overall, this is the current state of affairs. We see this very clearly on social media – if someone has a lot of followers and likes etc, they must be good and know their stuff right? Yea, not so much!!
Don’t get me wrong, knowledge is an important part of the process, but make sure the knowledge feels true to you, if you have doubts, question it. Maybe it does not work with your path, maybe one of your “agreements” is being challenged and needs a looking at. Only you can answer that honestly.
So how we convert knowledge into wisdom? Firstly, stop studying another modality/subject or finding another teacher, and another, and another. Stop and apply it, that is the only way we can know for sure if the modality or subject works for us. At some point you must move out of your comfort zone and start applying the knowledge in your life. We all have to leave home at some point and start living our own lives.
Secondly, use your brain, be aware of ego’s little tricks, and find the truth that resonates with you. Apply that truth, tweak it a bit if you need to, use your intuition and guidance to evaluate if the thought makes you feel better or worse. Pay attention to your body. Test it by comparing it to the “real” world. Remember the pagan credo “As above, so below, as within, so without” if there is a cognitive dissonance, explore it, trust yourself.
A quick note here, don’t misinterpret fear as a sign not to do something. In the theory of goal setting, if a goal doesn’t spark at least a little fear, it is not a goal worth pursuing and is just going to take you back around the trodden path.
Hey, if that works for you – great, but if you truly want to change your world, change yourself, and the world will change around you. You can not keep doing what you have always done and expect a different result.
Remember: Next time a thought or potential action frightens you, take a moment to consider these questions:
- Is this fear or excitement?
- Is this from my soul or from my ego – simple way to tell – does this create separation/judgement/justification (ego) or unification/peace/joy/healing (spirit).
- Does this feed my soul or am I sacrificing my well-being for someone else to feel good – we have spoken about his one a lot, haven’t we?
Another important aspect of the Sage’s wisdom is that it is calm and never shared unasked. It is never forced; it is never given with a threat of non-compliance.
Maybe take a moment and look at how much “teaching” is done with the fear aspect built in. If you don’t go to church every Sunday, you will go to Hell. If you don’t follow my instructions to the letter, I will no longer teach you. Always do this/don’t do that or you will fall foul of the gods or whoever.
Interesting observation – have you noticed how much indoctrination is done with the rewards or punishment applied after physical death.
My question – how do they know – not think – not believe – know? You can only know something if you have experienced it in your current physical reality, everything else is assumption and guess work, no matter how “divinely” you may think you are guided.
Never allow your teacher’s fears and ego to dictate your path or actions. If fear must be used as an incentive, it isn’t knowledge or wisdom, it is indoctrination! Simple really!!
Oops, got a bit carried away on that but hopefully you have some things to think about and can discover some things in your life that are dragging you down and really shouldn’t be.
Have a blessed and insightful few weeks until we meet again at New Moon!
