Hi there

Time for Weekend Wisdom, I found previously that I was just really repeating things in the summary, when the message is there anyway. I skipped the summary last week as an experiment and realised it works quite well, so I think I will stick to that for the moment. It gives you the space to make up your own mind as well.

Have a fab week!!

The below is based on my knowledge, experience, and interpretation; feel free to disagree and question me, we both grow that way.

Card by card explanation

Central energy focus
The StJinx Arcana: Two of Cups:
Contemplating Communion

Our central theme for this week is about relationships, not necessarily romantic ones but any relationship.

Our experience relies on relationships between people, we only truly exist in relationship to others and our world.  It forms the basis of our experience. Experience isn’t even possible without relationship.

The Two of Cups reminds us that relationships come with compromise as well as self-awareness and self-care. A balanced relationship is about filling each other’s cups, knowing that it is safe to share your energy as the energy is reciprocated from the other person.

To use an image from The Prophet by Khalil Gibran. A relationship is about being two pillars of a temple, standing strong in their own identity while supporting a common goal. Sometimes there may be more strain on one pillar as the other “takes a break” and vice versa.

A good relationship is about two people coming together with different skills, beliefs, thoughts and passions and supporting each other to achieve something greater than the individuals are capable of individually.

When this energy exchange becomes one-sided, that is when it becomes an abusive relationship, maybe even with narcissistic undertones too.

What is supporting this process, what processes can we use to help us here?
The Faerie’s Oracle – He of the Fiery Sword: The active principle, spiritual will, justice, safety

Another one of the Singers of the Realms, equated to angels, devas, gods, goddesses, etc. Primal energies of creation and raw energy, they don’t care what we call them, as long as we call on them.

They are the Great Ones, they show us what we have the potential to become, the essence of our truth and being in this reality.

He of the Fiery Sword represents the active principle, often referred to as the Yang or masculine principle. At the very basis of our reality is the existence and apparent separation of opposites, the hermetic law of gender being one of theories elaborating on this.  It is a primal force that lies at the very basis of our experience.

Unfortunately, in our modern world, this principle has become blurred with the ego-based expressions and activism of sexism and feminism creating a chronic imbalance in the world that is now becoming incredibly destructive.

As we know, Ego separates and Spirit unites and balances. Instead of learning from the past where the masculine energy was used to dominate and control, thus becoming toxic and destructive; we have now made the feminine controlling and dominant, and we have the same result. The feminine has now become toxic and destructive.

The theory of the Sacred Masculine and Sacred Feminine joining in the Divine Marriage is about balance and relying on the strengths of each aspect to balance the weaknesses of the other aspect thus creating a balanced whole stronger than the individuals themselves could ever be. Not merging into one but standing as two pillars of a temple with the north-wind blowing between them.

As we were talking about in the Two of Cups, polarity/gender is the first emanation that requires balance, both “sides” bringing their best qualities to a relationship and has nothing to do with power, control or dominance. These are emanations of our ego.

He of the Fiery Sword can be called on when we need to make difficult decisions, often clouded by emotions and concepts of right and wrong, good and evil. When we have difficult things to do, things that will serve our path, but may disappoint others. When we have to take actions that require a strong will and compassion.

Seeing as our focus is relationships this week, its maybe time to consider the balance of masculine and feminine energy within ourselves. Are we allowing our compassion to hold us back from doing what we need to do to move forward on our path, are we being too aggressive in our actions in relationship to others because of our fears, are we judging others and ourselves too harshly and dealing out much harsher “punishments” than we need to?

The Quantum Oracle – Fragmented Energy: Too many pieces

Back again from last week, this card tells us to stop and get things in order.

Our energy is all over the place, fragmented and driving us nuts. Even our own picture is damaged, the image of who we are. We seem to be striving against the current but unable to move forward because our attention is all over the place.

Are we allowing parts of our thought process to dominate because we have spent so much time defending a specific concept or belief, holding onto past hurts, all the while building up resentment.

In Wound Theory, when something tragic or emotional happens in our lives, when we give away our energy on relationships that drain us, we “leave a piece of our soul there”.

Obviously, this is not a literal interpretation, your soul can not really be destroyed or damaged.

What this card is saying to us is that we need to draw these “bits of soul” back, stop letting the past keep us in destructive cycles.

Forgiveness is an important tool here, not only to forgive others but to forgive ourselves, our guides, our gods and goddesses, release the blame.

Realise that everything is a choice, even not making a choice, is a choice.

Our lives, mental/spiritual stability and awareness are our responsibility. As long as you are blaming the devil, god, your father or mother, your ex, for how you are behaving now, you are powerless and will repeat the cycles of self-harm into infinity.

Take responsibility for your part in the situation, are you so focussed on being right that you have lost your humanity, are you so focussed on stamping out evil, that you have lost connection to yourself and your compassion?

You cannot forge ahead if you are looking backward, particularly at your failures and the punishment you believe you deserve for them.

As a support card, for our relationships to improve, we need to literally “pull ourselves together” by releasing and healing our wounds, letting go of the past, and unpacking our baggage, wash what needs to be washed, pack away what needs to be packed away, place mementoes on the mantlepiece, and air the house out a bit.

How can we ground this learning into our experience and move forward?
The Enchanted Map The Wizard of Awareness – your soul knows best, be still and observe.

Our friend, the Wizard of Awareness is back from one of our August readings. Epitomising the concept of mindfulness, being in the “now”.

Mindfulness is about stopping and just being in the moment without judgement, criticism or emotional drama. Looking around without our expectations clouding the view.

When things are crazy, chaotic and devastating around us, it is very easy to get caught up in it and carried away with the tide so to speak.

The Wizard of Awareness is here to remind us to stop. Take a breath. Drop our expectations. Accept the truth of where we are. Stop fighting it.

You cannot see your reflection in a rough sea, take a moment to let the waters calm and really look at yourself. Yes, things are changing, maybe at this moment you think for the worse, but nothing is ever 100% “bad” or 100% “good”.

One of the first steps to healing is fully accepting what is here. You cannot change or embrace something you cannot see.  Take the time to see clearly, knowing that, even when we think we may be being “punished” or suffering consequences of our “bad” decisions, that this is never true.  The Universe/God/Spirit never punishes, just presents consequences so we can grow and expand, maybe into something we have never considered before.

When it comes to relationships, which is what we are focussing on, take a step back from your expectation, look at your relationships honestly and ask yourself, “Do I want the person as they are showing up in my life right now in my life?”

If the answer is no, or you start justifying the relationship by saying things like, “maybe I can help them heal,” or “maybe I can show them they deserve love,” or “maybe they will change,” or “they used to be so loving and supportive, maybe I need to change because I disappointed them in some way” the answer is quite simply no; no to the guilt, and no to keeping the relationship in your life, and no to sacrificing yourself for them any longer.

Sacred Geometry Oracle Deck: Tzolkin : circle of time

The ancient Maya were masters of time, developing a calendar whose accuracy has not slipped one day in over twenty-five centuries. The Tzolkin or sacred round is one representation of a portion of this tradition.

This card asks us to look at how we view time and its effect on our experience. Is it something that enslaves us, or something that gives us space to experience and grow. Is time a wave that nurtures, allowing space for deep relaxation and development, or something that is constantly running out on us?

This card reminds us that we are the masters of time. It is our experience of time and if we see it as a support or an enemy.

Are we trying to do too much, making unrealistic deadlines, taking too much on, trying to fill time with stuff so we don’t have space to face ourselves and explore the truth of our existence and decisions.

To ground relationships in our experiences, we need to make time for them, time without pressure, make some decisions about the value of your activities, are they adding value, or not. If not, is there a way you can change the way you allocate time to them.

Do you bring work home and work all night rather than spend time with your family or friends. When you do spend time with your family and friends, are you fully present with them or worrying about what Monday will bring.

Take a look, honestly, and your time priorities, may it is time to shift things around and change your focus.

A good, simple exercise to priories yourself once a day is to set aside 1 hour for yourself, this is the most sacrosanct hour of your day and once you have committed to it, it is immovable. If someone has a crisis that you would normally drop everything and run to “fix”, tell them you have an appointment and can speak to them in an hour, if you have children that interrupt you on the loo, start teaching them boundaries, and say no.

During this hour do something that will enhance your soul, read a good book, light some incense and do some deep breathing, spend some time having a pedicure, or massage, write a poem, sit under a tree and just be.

The Desiderata

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.

Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.

Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.

And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.
