Hi there
So, Wednesday Wisdom is now Weekend Wisdom, both to free up my “working hours” during the week, and to give you more time to focus and get to grips with the message. Thank you to everyone that responded to my question on Wednesday.
So, what are we looking at today? Let’s jump in and find out, shall we?
As a reminder, the reading focuses firstly on the individual interpretations of the cards individually, and then a summary at the end.
The bulk of the “wisdom” is in the individual descriptions, even if you just read the summary for now, make time to read the individual interpretations, it will help understanding the full message.
The below is based on my knowledge, experience, and interpretation; feel free to disagree and question me, we both grow that way.
Card by card explanation
Central energy focus
The StJinx Arcana: The Emperor:
Structure, stability, authority, focus, discipline, protection, manipulation, excessive control, power-hungry, reckless, cruel, egomaniacal.
Impressive, very stern and often rigid, The Emperor is the epitome of power in the physical world, strong and decisive, often controlling, manipulative, arrogant and over-bearing too.
He believes that the buck stops here, in his hands and at his feet, and he carries the responsibility to defend and protect his sphere. It is his duty to ensure the prosperity and abundance of his sphere of influence too. He evaluates his own performance depending on what he sees in the world around him. He is, almost completely, externally focussed for validation.
Unlike the Empress or the Consort in this deck, he lacks compassion and understanding and often overlooks the more subtle aspects of governance.
He takes his role very seriously. Because of his overwhelming sense of responsibility and “duty”, he doesn’t listen to advice and only follows his “divine mandate”.
I was watching something many years ago and a line from the show stuck with me – “There is no-one in the world more dangerous than one who believes they are divinely guided”. The Emperor is the epitome of this concept.
Our central focus today, is to look at how rigid we are in our beliefs, to relook at whether these beliefs still hold true, or are we overwhelmed and blinded by our sense of duty, divine inspiration, working for the highest good, doing the “right” thing” and other external pressures.
In our world today, with the advent of social media, memes and instant gratification, etc. anyone can be a “prophet”, or purveyor of “divine inspiration”.
Why is that a problem you ask?
The answer is simple really, when we receive new information, we interpret it within our level of understanding and experience.
If we have been brought up, as many have, believing that everything is ours by right, that we can have anything we want. Then we see a video of someone being killed and their death celebrated because they were expressing different views to ours, views that brought into question the validity of our views, and maybe even pointing out that our view is based on a delusional understanding, then the message we take on board from the video is that it is ok to kill people who disagree with us. And literally “dance on their graves” in celebration.
Any emotionally mature adult would obviously question this, but unfortunately there are not many emotionally mature adults around these days.
The emperor comes into our space today, reminding us that the “right” thing isn’t always as “right” as it appears to be. That working for the highest good, also means that we deny ourselves, our truth and understanding, or even abusing ourselves emotionally and sometimes physically.
He is asking us to take a step back and re-evaluate the beliefs we are attached to, the absolute “facts” we accept without question because they come from the “right” source, a “qualified” expert etc.
Question everything! NOTHING is as it appears and the only guide you have in this age of fake news and misinformation is your own truth.
Some points to look at to help you clarify things:
- What does the person have to gain by saying this – a wider view than “follow the money”, don’t only look for financial gain, but also emotional validation, support for a cause, ego support or even simply to appear more “good” or “holy” than they really are.
- “Look a little deeper”. Is what is being spoken about and shared based on truth, honesty and integrity or is the person looking for external validation and approval.
With a little practice this will become second nature, and you will be able to see the truth behind the illusion.
In our world of fake news, social media hype, and online “prophets”, it is time to take a breath and really think about things. Human thought often follows the pattern of the pendulum, swinging from one “side” to the other, eventually it will stop in the “sweet spot” though, the middle.
This is where the truth lies, in balance.
What is supporting this process, what processes can we use to help us here?
The Faerie’s Oracle – Losgunna, The Frog Queen: Sunken treasure, discovery of self, adventure.
One of the Faerie Guides and Guardians, who’s job it is to directly guide humans as we develop our special gifts and talents. Irreverent, they have no respect for what we call dignity, they will trip you up and embarrass you so you relook at your arrogance and pride, and laugh at you when you fall.
They will also guide you on the best way to get up and highlight the truths you are missing.
Losganna, the Frog Queen, is particularly adept at helping us find the treasures in murky water. The waters of faery are created from human emotions, the heavier the emotions, the darker and murkier the water. She helps us explore these murky depths and find the treasure of ourselves hidden away there.
She encourages exploration and seeing the truth of who we really are without the “cover” of civilised behaviour, “doing the right thing” etc. She helps us expose our talents and also teaches us to accept the whole of ourselves, warts and all.
Our power, talents and truth hide behind old traumas and misunderstandings, behind missed opportunities, and “false ego” moments.
She is all about adventure, particularly focussed on the immediate vicinity or our experience.
Have you explored the interesting sites, areas and places of interest around you? Many people only discover these things when “foreigners” come to visit and they have to show them around.
Life is always an adventure for adventurous people and always boring for boring people. If you are bored, you are a boring person. If that is not who you want to be then dive to the bottom of your pond or jump out and find something interesting.
If you can’t find anything interesting to do, then you may as well clean out your room or watch tv and dose for the rest of your life.
Life is for living, so live it!
The Quantum Oracle – Commitment:
This card reminds us to do more than dip your toe in the water, dive in. You can not experience something if you look at it from the sidelines.
If you follow Lasgunna’s advice, do it with your whole being. Commit to the experience wholeheartedly.
If it doesn’t feel right after a bit, you can always try something else but you won’t know how it feels until you feel it, tastes until you taste it or have the experience unless you experience it.
Many of us float around new concepts and ideas, wondering if they are “right” for us, or if we “should” do it, afraid we might “get it wrong” or “make a mistake”.
As we have discussed before, there is no such things as failure, there are only unexpected outcomes.
You thought doing that would feel good, it didn’t – now what? Decide to change it, and dive in!
No matter how long you look at it from the sidelines, how many people you “interview” about their experience, how much you pine and wish, you can not have the experience without committing to it and fully embracing it.
Stay committed to the process, embrace it fully, release the things, thoughts and concepts you need to, and see how it goes.
The commitment card also reminds us that commitment is complete in the moment, if you realise, after having the experience, that it produced an unexpected result, then release it and try something else, but commit fully to it first before you discard it – who knows you might discover a treasure you weren’t even looking for!
How can we ground this learning into our experience and move forward?
The Enchanted Map: Heal the Ouch: Forgiveness is the healer of the soul
The big “F-word” in spiritual work – forgiveness. You don’t forgive for the other person; you forgive to release the pain from your soul.
Guilt is the most pointless emotion, it serves no-one. Heal the wounds by forgiving yourself and other’s so you don’t hold onto the wound.
Nothing will change the situation or what happened, but re-interpreting it, or releasing the pain from it will make a difference in moving forward.
The sad fact – you can not move forward and will remain stuck until you forgive, and release the pain, so do it now and enjoy the next step more.
Sacred Geometry Oracle Deck: Expanded Sri Yantra: Freedom
This card expands past the ancient image of the Sri Yantra, indicating cosmic connection, allowing ourselves to look beyond the apparent reality, and explore further.
Are you feeling stuck in your job, a relationship, are your responsibilities getting too much, it may be time for an adventure.
Look at where you are stuck, and make some shifts, it may not be the job, it may be that you have stopped creating in your job, look for other ways of doing it, look at the impact it has on the world around you.
Wednesday Wisdom became a bit like that for me, it became a chore that I had committed to and was interfering in my performance in other areas of my life.
I could have stopped doing it, but that didn’t feel right because I really enjoy doing it, or I could move it to the weekend and give it a new energy, getting it “out of the way” of my “work focus” and into a more personal and less stressed space, and here we are!!
Wednesday Wisdom is a free service, and you are welcome to share it if you wish, just please respect my work and share it in its entirety.
Summary
Ok, lets get the big picture here, shall we? Our central focus is about rigid thinking and relying on external forces to run our thoughts and feelings. In our world of “fake news”, “alternative facts” and other manipulative information, it can be difficult to maintain our calm and balance. While you are stuck in the polarity of things right/wrong, good/bad etc. you are subject to external manipulation.
A mature understanding of things though is that the lines between these “polar opposites” are not that clearly defined. In fact, when you really look at things with out judging the right or wrong, and just accepting that they are, can lead to some interesting thoughts.
We have discussed this before, but let’s mention it again.
Is dark the opposite of light, or is it merely the absence of light? Is bad the opposite of good, or is it the absence of good, is fear the opposite of love, or is it the absence of it?
For me truth is something that remains true on both “sides” of an argument, in all aspects of understanding. Even if the essence of the truth is hidden in myth and fable to assist in understanding, the essential truth still remains intact.
To help us through this muddy and murky landscape, we have Losgunna, The Frog Queen, who helps use dive into the murky waters and find the treasures hidden behind externally “preferred outcomes”. She encourages looking clearly, without judgement, at situations, and finding the essence of truth within each one.
Assisted by the card of commitment that reminds us that, looking at something from the outside is not going to give as a better understanding of it, you have to commit to the experience of it, before you can say you know it. Also in this card is the thought that beating a dead horse is only going to make a mess, if you have fully emersed yourself in the experience, and it doesn’t feel good or work for you, then have the courage to forgive yourself, and step out of or away from people, experiences, situations that do not bring you joy and bring light your eyes.
To ground the experience in our reality, we need to forgive and release to be able to move forward, surrendering to our need for adventure, give yourself the freedom to try something you never thought you would, give it a go – who knows what you are looking for may just be there?
Hope this helps – have a fab week!!

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.
