Hi there

Time for some Wednesday Wisdom. A little fresh today – stay warm!!

So, I realised this morning that I have been going against my own teachings with Wednesday Wisdom by “pandering” to my audience – yea that’s you guys – to make things easier for you rather than being honest and sticking to the process that has the most benefit and works better.

So, going forward, the summary is moving back to the end where it should be. Maybe take the message of the first card today seriously and pop to the loo for a few minutes if you really can’t wait, or make time for your soul in your diary and stick to it!

Wednesday Wisdom is a free service and you are welcome to share it if you wish, just please respect my work and share it in it’s entirety.

Have a great week!!!

Card by card explanation

Central energy focus
The StJinx Arcana: Four of Swords: Embrace stillness, peace, sanctuary, rest, relaxation, recuperation, reflection / overworked, overthinking.

At first glance, our central character this week seems to be “lying in state” on a funeral catafalque, one sword beneath him, and three others poised above him, appearing to apply pressure or press down on him.

There are a few inconsistencies, though, that indicate things are not exactly as they seem.

His hands, rather than being placed flat on his chest in repose, are raised in “prayer position” above his heart centre. The stained-glass window is an image of the Madonna and child, not something you would normally associate with a funeral.

His hands pointing upward in a prayer position would indicate that he is not dead at all; his face is very serious, maybe even a little pained. He appears to be deep in thought, not because he necessarily wants to be, but because he has to be.

The three upright swords are also placed in an interesting pattern in this deck – they are placed over the lower energy centres, the base, the sacral and the solar plexus, indicating the pressure of the “lower world” or our physical reality pressing down on him.

In our physical reality, things can appear very real and pressure us into panic and stress. There is so much to do, and so many people to please, partners, lovers, children, bosses, friends etc. etc. etc.

With so many calls for our energy from external sources, we can often feel frazzled, scattered and panicked. There is just no way we can do everything we need to please everyone. And this is exactly the point!!

So, time for a quick reality check: If you die tomorrow, besides a slight blip as people process it:

  • Your loved ones will carry on
  • Your boss will replace you
  • Your friends will carry on
  • Your partner may find someone else
  • The people draining you will find another source

There is not one person, thing, place, situation or anything else that will come to an end except you!

We worry about what people may think about us, are we being “good” people, does “god” approve of our behaviour, does someone like or hate us.  Here is the thing – they are going to like or hate, support or reject, respect or despise you purely based on their own interpretations and wounds, there is NOTHING you can do to change that – your reputation is not your concern, your integrity, self-respect and self-value are.

The world reflects your inner dialogue, if you sacrifice yourself for others, there will always be others to sacrifice yourself for. If you feel value in rescuing animals, there will always be animals to rescue. There has to be for you to feel good.

Change the direction of your love and care to yourself.  Only when you focus on yourself and let your love overflow to the world, rather than giving your love to world and draining yourself, will you truly be helping anyone.

Be an example of empowerment and strength, maturity and self-love and others will follow, give them yourself and they will devour you.

Have compassion for the world and guide, don’t give yourself, you are all you truly have, that will be taken from you and you will disappear.

The message from the Four of Swords this week is very clear – you have pushed yourself, sacrificed yourself, and made everyone else your priority for too long – rest now or rest forever!

What is supporting this process, what processes can we use to help us here?
The Faerie’s Oracle: The Oak Men: Strength, ancient wisdom, depth

Part of the Help-line Troupe of faeries who are full of fun, sassy and mischievous.  These are the faeries we normally think of when we think of faeries and sprites etc., they can also be very serious, and as often the case with faeries, fun and mischievous behaviour often hides deeper and more serious issues.

They love natural environments and nature magic, so communicating with them in nature is always better.

The Oak Men remind us to look and see them clearly for what they are, not what we perceive them to be through our own preconceived ideas and projections. Much of what we experience of the world is based on our projections and interpretations.

Again, I am reminded of the Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz, specifically, Do not make assumptions. Very often, we assume someone’s statements or behaviours, or actions, mean one thing, but they may mean something completely different to them. This happens in reverse too, with other people assuming something we do or say means one thing when it may be intended completely differently.

If we use our filters and projections to interpret our world, we are actually using our wounds. Look a little deeper, things may not be as they seem. This may seem impossible, but in time, it becomes easier and eventually almost second nature.

The Oak men remind us that what is truly there to be seen cannot be seen with a superficial or cursory glance and hasty response. The wisdom is hidden deeper.

They encourage us to look slowly and deeply into the heart of the matter. See past the surface, consider the history, consider your wounds, consult others with more experience, do some research outside of your normal purview, consider motives, yours and others’. Haste right now is your worst enemy!

Working with and communing with trees right now may be beneficial, their deep, calm wisdom is invaluable.

The Quantum Oracle – The Loving Man: Tender-hearted masculine energy.

The masculine has become seriously maligned and despised in recent times. Being a man is almost seen as a “sin” and the worst thing you could be, unless you submit totally to the feminine.

This is a natural reaction to the damaged and previously suppressed feminine energy, but it is also a subversion of the masculine energy.

Instead of healing the past and doing it differently, they are doing exactly the same as was done to them, but in the opposite direction. The same goes for race issues, which we can see very clearly in South Africa at the moment.

This is also observable in abusive situations when the “victim” breaks out of the abusive relationship, they very often become just as bad, if not worse than their abuser was.

The Loving Man is here today to remind us that there are loving, honest men in the world, just as there are malicious and vicious women. The masculine/feminine balance can be just as loving and just as toxic as each other.

Instead of seeking retribution and punishing, often innocent people, for the abuses and miscarriages of others, we need to learn to forgive, heal ourselves, and look for a different way that benefits everyone, not the suppression of one “side” by another.

The world works the way it was designed to work, with both “positive” and “negative” experiences. Everything exists as it should exist

Trying to create “Heaven on Earth”, or beaming light and love onto the planet and other similar behaviours are all a waste of time and energy and a way to distract us from finding our truth and feeling “good” about actions that have no real impact and cannot be changed.

People ask why the world is in the state it is in, the answer is simple. All the years of “do-gooders” and “holier-than-thou’s” beaming light to the planet have unbalanced its energy fields, and so the “darkness” is increasing to rebalance what wasn’t broken in the first place.

Defining things as right or wrong, good or evil, virtue or sin are all corruptions of the divine creation by the human ego to justify its actions and keep us distracted from finding the truth within ourselves.

Everything has value – it may not be fun, it may be painful, it may cause suffering, but there is value if you look for it.

On a more personal level, the Loving Man could also indicate a new love interest or the deepening of a current love. It could also be reminding us to be the example of a loving man, to love and respect ourselves and let that example shine out as a motivation and beacon to others.

Open your heart to the energy of love, to expressing the passion and creativity of the masculine energy and raise the vibration of the world around you, not by forcing it to change, or trying to create it in your own image, but by allowing it to be what it needs to be and letting your own love overflow.  The vibration around you will naturally lift, and the people around you will make different choices and raise their own vibration by seeing your example.

How can we ground this learning into our experience and move forward?
The Psychic Tarot: Love Begins

Jeeze, what’s with all the love cards today!! Could indicate new love, or an increasing of current love, or reigniting passion and love from an idea, project or situation.

All in all, a reminder to allow your cup of love to naturally overflow around you. Not as a sacrifice of your love to others, but an excess of your love that naturally runs over into your surroundings without sacrificing anything of yourself.

Divine Nature Oracle Deck by Angi Sullins: Speak True:

When we think about a sanctuary, we normally think of a temple, a safe place, a special room, home maybe. A place where we feel safe and loved. This is all good, but we can not live in that sanctuary 24/7, we have to go out into the “real” world for food, clothing, to work, or whatever.

This card reminds us that we can also create a sanctuary within ourselves, not as a place to run to when things get crazy, but a place where we are calm, safe and secure in the middle of all the crazy around us.

This starts with the awareness of our thoughts and feelings. When people start the process of observing thoughts and feelings, the task very quickly seems to become overwhelming.

The “normal” reaction is to try and suppress the “bad” thoughts and force “good” thoughts over them.  This never works. If you put ice cream on top of a bowl of shit, yes you will taste ice cream initially, but at some point you will get a mouthful of shit.

People also panic because they don’t seem to be able to stop the “bad” thoughts from happening. Here is the truth, they can’t be stopped. So what do we do then?

The solution is not to stop the bad thoughts, but when they come, stop giving them power. Acknowledge them, even acknowledge the possibility of the “bad” thing happening, but then, instead of allowing that to take you down a spiral of drama, the past etc, say the word “but”, and state your new intention.  The word “but” negates what came before it automatically and is a powerful word to use to change the direction of your thoughts.  Again, practice and it will become easier.

Fear, negativity and even pain are important; they get our attention very quickly and demand action, or they can warn us of possible pitfalls. The important thing is not to stay stuck there, rather change direction, or make a different choice or decision. Don’t fight the “negative” thought, acknowledge it, appreciate it, even thank it, then make a choice, or change your intention.

We can’t always control what happens around us or even to us sometimes, but we can choose how we respond to it, and how we experience it. Sometimes the “negative” situation is actually what we need to get the “positive” situation we were looking for.

I am reminded of the movie Evan Almighty.  At the beginning of the movie the mother prays for a loving supportive family. With all the craziness and her husband turning into Noah etc, she eventually has enough, packs her kids up and is driving to her mother in another state.

They stop for lunch and she asks the waiter (Morgan Freeman – god in the movie) for more fries and he asks her what’s up, she tells him and his response is very interesting. “When you pray for a loving, supportive family, God doesn’t zap you with warm fuzzies, he creates opportunities and situations that allow you and your family to be loving and supportive” – some food for thought there.

Establishing sanctuary does not mean living in a rarified tinkling environment, it means staying grounded and centred in the midst of the chaos around us.

Summary

Well now!! A lot of hard-hitting but loving info today.  I have already said a lot, so let’s keep this simple.

We seem to be still dealing with aspects of “clear-seeing” and looking a little deeper, but with the added indication that new or deeper understanding is needed and only possible if we stop and take a breath before it is too late.  New love in some aspects may be blooming too!! So that could be fun.

Our central focus is a strong call to rest, rejuvenate and take a moment for our souls. Rest now or rest forever as I said above.

Step out of the chaos and panic and pay attention to your truth.  Stop allowing outside pressure to force you out of your peace.

Take a moment or two and look into/through the eyes of experience and deep, calm wisdom to see the love already around you and within you. Become the strong but gentle Loving Man, secure in your love, power and boundaries. Say no to things that distract you from your path, and lead you to lose yourself. Allow love to flow to you and from you.

Stay safe in your sanctuary amidst the chaos around you and prioritise peace.

The Desiderata
By Max Ehrmann ©1927

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.

Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.

Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.

And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.
