Hi there
Time for some Wednesday Wisdom.
Just a reminder that the summary is posted at the beginning, if you are short on time, but can’t wait to read it!
The full wisdom and knowledge is in the detailed breakdown though.
When I do the reading, I do the individual cards first, then bring them together, so that would be the ideal way to read it too, unless you really can’t wait! As always, do what works best for you.
Today we have a little surprise, an additional card and a new deck. Over the years, I have had many cleanouts and given away tarot decks etc. that I don’t use regularly. One deck keeps coming back every time, so I decided to use it for a bit and see what happens. I couldn’t decide which card to replace, so, for this week anyway, we have an “additional info” card to introduce the Faeries’ Oracle by Brian Froud & Jessica Macbeth
Okay then, let’s get to it!
This week’s central focus is experiencing loss, hardship and adversity. We have been programmed to think that if you live a “good” life, you should not experience “bad” things. This is total BS and often leads us down some very dark and scary holes as we berate ourselves for not being “good enough”, “holy enough”, or “deserving enough” of some external force’s expectations of us. And so we perpetuate this cycle further and further downward into despair.
Supporting us in this experience are two reminders. Firstly, remember that the very fact that we are alive as an aspect of divinity makes us 100% deserving of abundance and joy, we don’t have to “prove” anything to anybody, especially ourselves, to be “worth it”, so to speak.
Secondly, that every thought and emotion changes our vibration and energy field, and also impacts on the energy around us.
Try this little game. When you go into the office, greet people, smile and wish them good morning instead of slinking in and hoping no-one sees you. Do it for a few days and watch as the environment starts changing around you.
Dr. Leo Buscaglia had an awesome story. He went around campus greeting people all the time. Sometimes they would turn to him and say angrily; “Do I know you?”, to which he responded, “No, but wouldn’t it be nice!”.
Sometimes he got “No, it wouldn’t” as the person angrily stormed off. Obviously he was hurt, but he thought to himself – what a pity, I am such a nice person, so you know what, tomorrow I will give them another chance.
So when he saw them again, he would greet them, and when they answered, “Do I know you?” as expected, he responded, “Yes, we met yesterday!”
To ground this experience into the physical environment, we need to allow ourselves to transform, let go of the things that don’t make us feel good, and focus on things that do.
Follow the guidance of our hearts and unconditional love.
It is also important to remember that sudden shocks could also include winning the lottery or getting a financial windfall. These changes also have their own set of challenges that shake the foundation of our world.
Our Faerie Friend: Gawtcha reminds us that often we become stuck and trapped in our own “safe zones”, and need to catch a wake-up, shake things up a bit. He comes along to shatter the status quo and make us reassess our process.
A tough one this week, but a very important one to get to grips with. Everything is a cycle, and everything is energy. We are a lot more able to handle things than we think. We are never presented with challenges we can not handle, even if we think they are insurmountable, and we will always be able to carry on if we use these experiences to re-evaluate and embrace the changes and hidden blessings they bring.
Have a blessed week!!
Card by card explanation
Central energy focus
The StJinx Arcana: 5 of Pentacles
Experiencing Loss: financial hardship, loss, adversity, worry, struggle, isolation, alienation, survival, progress, awareness of options, support.
Interesting follow-on from last week when we spent some time focusing on charity, this week the focus is on experiencing loss.
When I see this card in a reading, I normally interpret it in terms of poverty consciousness and the belief of lack and scarcity impacting our experience.
If you look at the image on the card, it shows two people in the snow, one on crutches, looking angry and directly at us, almost daring us to say something so he can attack. One hides himself and looks down, almost like he is hoping no-one sees him. Behind them is a brilliant church window, sparkling with light and abundance.
This card brings sharply into focus that everything works in cycles, and sometimes we experience periods of lack and suffering.
Often we interpret this as a failure or punishment, or not deserving enough, or lacking in some essential thing or trait, or bad luck, or being cursed etc.
I term this poverty consciousness. Remember, we have discussed how every element of your being, even those you are unaware of, goes into the manifestation of your desires. This is one of the ways this happens.
Pay attention to how often you use poverty/disease-linked words in your daily life, even as a “joke”, figure out ways, of expressing it differently.
Look for comments/thoughts like; “I play the lotto regularly for fun, not like I am ever gonna win anything”, “My parents never had much, so I am disadvantaged and got a bad start”, “cancer runs in my family, I will get it sooner or later”, “I always get sick this time of the year”, “I got caught in the rain yesterday, I am sure I am going to get sick”, “I never get what I ask for”, “I am getting older, my memory is not what it should be”, “I am over 50, my metabolism is slow”, etc. etc. etc.
One of the things I love about the law of attraction is that it proves its existence, even when you try to disprove it.
“Your wish is my command” says the Universe.
Look at the comments above – thinking this, you will never win the lottery, never earn a good salary or make a lot of money, definitely get cancer at some point, always get sick at a specific time of the year, always get sick when you get stuck in the rain, never get what you want or need, start losing your memory, put on weight as you get older etc.
Look how well you have used the law of attraction to create shit in your life, imagine if you used it consciously to create a better life for yourself?
One of the issues I often come across helping people use the law of attraction is unearthing the unconscious aspects that stop the manifestation, like this one.
Following on from last week, we are taught from a young age to sacrifice ourselves for the greater good, or the good of others, to a point that it is ingrained in our minds and becomes an agreement we never question.
This thinking is entirely externally focused, and again relies on the approval of an external source to give it credibility. We have trained ourselves to feel good when we sacrifice ourselves, and bad when we look after ourselves.
Again, coming back to the spiritual beings having a human experience concept. In the eternal realms, this energy flow is perfectly natural; in our physical realm, this doesn’t always work. And again, the “ego or fear-based mindset” is taking a valid spiritual concept and perverting it by making us lower our vibration when we look to healing ourselves, and claiming our own power.
Cycles are what make our reality stable and our experience possible. when we stay “stuck” in a cycle, we keep repeating the same patterns again and again, drawing us further and further away from our essence of love.
So let us clear up this flow issue. You are in the flow when you allow things in and out of your life, don’t hoard them, but also don’t give too much. Your first priority is to yourself – yes parents, even and maybe particularly you. Placing yourself in the position of the people in the card so you can be a “good” person does nothing to improve your life or the life of others.
When working with this concept, be aware of guilt and chuck it straight out the door. Guilt is the most pointless emotion in the world. It does nothing for either party.
Experiencing periods of lack is a natural process. It happens. It is important when you experience periods of lack financially, emotionally or in any other way, to pay attention to what you are thinking and saying, how you have created unexpected results, and what choices and decisions you can make to create different ones.
Remember the discussions from last week, you have come through 100% of every “bad” experience. In winter, the earth settles into “hibernation”, so to speak, to prepare itself to burst forth again in spring. We go to sleep every night to give us the energy to experience a new day tomorrow. This too will pass.
Experience and feel the loss, morn its passing, release it and look forward to a new tomorrow, while making better decisions today. It always comes!
The demeanours of the two people in the card are important too – remember to look up and not take the situation to heart. No need to get defensive and angry, or to hide your beauty from the world. It is not a failure, it is an unexpected result. It is temporary, don’t allow it to take you down a destructive spiral.
What is supporting this process, what processes can we use to help us here?
Quantum Oracle: Deserving: Your True Worthiness
This lady has everything she desires and knows she is deserving of it, so she can embrace it without doubt and fear.
As a supporting card to the above, this card reminds us to stay focused when things look grim. Take a breath and make different choices. So you got unexpected results, welcome to life, dust yourself off and do something different.
Pretend you are Britney Spears – oops, I did it again! Then take a breath, see if some of what you are seeing in your reality is because you don’t believe you are worth it, and make new choices.
Some of these “blocks” could be in the agreements you have made with your reality in the early stages of your life. Or the agreements you made regarding the universe or source, the belief in original sin, for example.
We deserve everything our heart desires, we are not meant to live a life of lack, there is no benefit or reward in self-sacrifice.
Remember too there is a different in believing and knowing. Just consider the difference in these two sentences:
I believe I deserve it or I know I deserve it – which makes a stronger statement?
Knowing comes from practising and seeing the results, do it again, if it isn’t working the way you expect, change something and do it differently.
Or take a breath and decide if this is what your heart truly wants, or are you going after something that others want from you, not what you know to be true for you?
The Teachings of Abraham Well-being Cards: The vibrations of my being influence the universe
As a supporting card, this reminds us again that everything is vibration, and every thought and especially emotion changes your vibration and everything around you.
Try this – remember the gratitude journal – instead of waiting for the end of the day and subconsciously creating a situation where you need to find things to be grateful for.
When you get up in the morning, consciously make a decision to be grateful for everything, if you are facing a difficult situation, focus on it working out instead of how it can go wrong.
Patience, keep going, you have already created some energy that is flowing around from your previous worry and fear. It’s ok, keep focused and it will clear.
The important thing with this card is the concept of doing this consciously, making a choice and decision to deliberately change your perception and feeling about the situations you are involved in.
How can we ground this learning into our experience and move forward?
The Psychic Tarot: Transformation
Traditionally the Death Card, Transformation comes between the Sacrifice Card (The Hanged Man) and the Patience Card (Temperance).
We have been talking a lot lately about letting go of things that don’t serve us. Once we do this, our life starts transforming, or changing form.
This card indicates that the cycles in your life are ending, and new cycles are beginning. It is important to let the past go, and focus on the new things coming in.
Divine Nature Oracle Deck: Navigate with the heart
Your emotional guidance system is a much truer guide than your intellectual guidance system. Your heart is mainly connected to the spiritual and your mind to the physical.
The conscious mind develops at the same time as our ego, and the shadow is created from there as our conscious mind judges aspects of our being as unworthy, or unacceptable, and suppresses them to make us “acceptable” to the external world.
While it is true we need to function in the physical world, we also need to express and experience our spiritual selves too.
That is the whole point of the physical reality. To experience the mind of god in time and space.
Our hearts also have a brain, did you know that? There is physically brain tissue on the heart. The heart chakra also creates the bridge between the physical chakras and the spiritual ones.
This does not mean we have to be fluffy bunnies dancing through daisies and farting rainbows though. Sometimes unconditional love is hard and painful.
Use your heart to guide you. If your brain decides something is the right thing to do, great, does your heart agree?
The heart is simple to understand; it has one function: to regulate flow, to open and close, basically.
Does this action make me feel good or not? Does it open me up to possibility, or close me down in fear? Spirit brings together in love, ego pushes us apart with fear, judgment and anger, the balance is where bliss lies.
Our Faerie Friend for the week
Faerie lore has always fascinated me. I bought this deck many years ago for the first time. As I mentioned, I have given it away quite a few times because I didn’t really use it, but it keeps coming back as a gift, or some other way, so I suppose I should start exploring it, hey?
Initially, I am drawing this card as a “friend” to expand the reading, let’s see how it evolves.
So, our first faerie friend is Gawtcha. Let’s meet him and see what he has to say.
The Faeries’Oracle: Gawtcha
Sudden Shock, Unexpected Events & Rude Awakenings
Gawtcha is one of the Faerie Challengers. Their job is to bring us face to face with our fears, our denials, our traumas, insecurities, delusions and confusions.
Hmm come to think of it, they would be very useful when I relaunch my Shadow course soon!! Hmmm …
Gawtcha brings sudden changes, often violent breakdowns of our existing status quo. He is asked to intervene when we become too complacent and too tightly confined to our self-imposed limitations.
He kindly breaks down the structures confining us, even if we hate him for doing it. This is why he is pictured peeking through his fingers at us, like a child who has done something and doesn’t want us to be upset or angry with him and hurt him.
He reminds us that breakdowns can often lead to breakthroughs and that this is actually a process of liberation not punishment or failure.
He also asks us not to just pick up the pieces and glue them back together, because then he has to break them again. But rather to use the experience to re-evaluate and assess our truth and make changes to our experience that would expand us and not restrict us.
It is also important to remember that sudden shocks could also include winning the lotto or getting a financial windfall. These changes also have their own set of challenges that shake the foundation of our world.
The Desiderata
By Max Ehrmann ©1927
Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.
